About The Team: The Veterinary and Animal Science team at SRUC Barony, located in Dumfries, is part of Scotland's Rural College (SRUC). This team is dedicated to providing comprehensive education and training in veterinary care and animal welfare. The Opportunity: We are looking for a Technical Support Officer to join our team friendly team in the Veterinary Animal Science department at Barony. We are seeking a committed Technical Support Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the care and welfare of a range of animals housed in the Animal Care Training Centre and associated areas, paying particular attention to their welfare needs. This will include but is not limited to feeding, watering, grooming and cleaning. In addition to this you will be required to maintain accurate animal records and communicate any issues arising. Applicants should have an interest in animals; a qualification in animal care would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given. Applicants must be available to work a rota of 1 in every 3 weekends 9am to 1pm Saturday & Sunday and must be flexible to provide additional holiday cover during the week for staff holidays and unplanned leave as required. This is a fixed term, zero-hour contract. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have an interest in animals; a qualification in animal care would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
