Software Development Engineer, iOS, Zappos Discovery Tech - Mobile
At Zappos Tech, we're on a mission to deliver unparalleled shopping experiences to our customers. We're seeking a Software Development Engineer II (SDE2) to join our iOS Mobile team at Zappos. As an SDE2 on the iOS team, you will contribute significantly to software development of the Zappos iOS app. Your work will span the entire customer journey, from Homepage to checkout: Search, Search Results, Homepage, Ads, Widgets, Recommendations, and much more. Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain native iOS apps using Xcode, Swift, SwiftUI, Objective-C, UIKit, CloudKit, Core Data, and Core Animation.
* Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineers to create optimal customer experiences and inform technology choices.
* Provide coaching and guidance to team members, enforcing high coding standards and best practices.
* Address complex technical challenges on a well‑understood technology strategy, balancing business needs with scalable solutions.
* Promote and uphold best practices within the team.
* Continuously learn and grow, contributing to the team's strategy and fostering an inclusive environment.
Basic Qualifications
* 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
* 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
* Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
* 3+ years of Apple platform development experience.
Preferred Qualifications
* 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300 per year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600 per year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
