Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week.
We are seeking an experienced and motivated team leader in our Revenues and Payments team.
The role involves leading a team of staff to deliver an effective and efficient service responsible for assessing, charging, collecting and paying for adult social care services.
The successful candidate will contribute to the management of the wider team working across three areas.
* Financial assessments for adult social care
* Payment of social care invoices and charging for client contributions.
* Direct payments administration and auditing.
You will play a critical part in ensuring compliance with legislation and delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and supervising a team of staff to deliver an effective and efficient service, within budgetary targets, ensuring that staff are fully trained, workloads are planned and work allocated to staff in a way to maximise performance.
* Contributing to the management of the wider team, dealing with recruitment and selection, sickness monitoring, hybrid working arrangements, risk assessments, performance issues, disciplinary matters, allocating work and monitoring leave.
Providing technical and professional advice to the team and customers as well as to senior management, other areas of the council and external stakeholders.
Dealing with more complex customer enquiries and responding to complaints. Performance monitoring against accepted indicators, service level agreements, corporate plan objectives and the service plan. Working with the Operational Manager to address any service performance issues. Assisting the Operational Manager in the implementation of change, service improvement and introduction of new areas of work on the team including writing new action plans and reports and developing procedures and policies.
* Organising and chairing both internal and external meetings, developing good working relationships with other teams both within and outside the service, other councils, outside agencies and the private sector.
About You
Proven experience of supervising operational teams within a financial or social care environment.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
* Comprehensive knowledge of The Care Act, statutory guidance and charging and assessment regulations for adult social care.
Ability to interpret complex legislation and apply to working processes.
Highly organised, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communicator with the ability to build effective relationships
