A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a passionate Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team in September 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for aspiring educators to build valuable experience supporting students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a range of Humanities subjects.

Your Role as a Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant
Working closely with experienced Humanities teachers, you will:
* Support students in History, Geography, Religious Studies, and/or Social Science lessons
* Provide in-class support to help students understand complex topics, key terminology, and analytical skills
* Deliver one-to-one or small group interventions for students needing additional support
* Assist with lesson planning, resource preparation, and classroom activities
* Encourage thoughtful discussion, critical thinking, and a curiosity about the world
* Support students in exam preparation, essay writing, and coursework where applicable
* Build strong relationships with students to support both academic and personal development
Who This Role is Perfect For:
* A recent graduate (2:1 or above) in History, Geography, RS, Sociology, Politics, Psychology, or another related Humanities/Social Science subject
* Someone considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, or pastoral/student support
* A confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a patient, encouraging approach
* An individual passionate about helping students explore global issues, human behaviour, cultures, and societies
* Someone with prior experience working with young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, volunteering, youth work – desirable but not essential)
