The Pepperpot is located inside one of Derby's most iconic buildings. On the site of the old Derbyshire Royal Infirmary. The site features a bar and restaurant in the original building, a stylish restaurant housed in the new glass box extension to the rear and a large outdoor terrace. With over 1 million pounds invested in the site and having recently been awarded one AA rosette, this is the perfect opportunity for a Breakfast Chef. You will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations and ensuring the smooth preparation of high-quality dishes. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced AA rosette restaurant environment while working alongside experienced chefs.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and cooking of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring all areas are hygienic and compliant with health regulations.
* Support senior chefs in food production tasks, including chopping, slicing, and cooking various ingredients.
* Participate in inventory management by helping to track stock levels and report any shortages to supervisors.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations during service periods.
* Follow all food safety protocols and guidelines to guarantee the quality and safety of food served.
* Contribute to menu development by providing feedback on dishes and suggesting improvements based on customer preferences.
