Role: Project Manager – Teaching Industry Exchange Programme

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £41,086 and £47,971 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Fixed Term – Full Time – Fixed until 31 March 2029

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Project Manager for the Teaching Industry Exchange Programme to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Project Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

1. Programme Design, Delivery & Quality – Lead the end‑to‑end planning, launch, delivery and continuous improvement of the national Teacher Industry Exchange (TIE) programme, creating frameworks, timelines, toolkits, QA processes and ensuring alignment with policy, funding rules and governance.
2. Digital Platforms & Systems Leadership – Develop, implement and maintain the national digital platform for employer directories, placement management, reporting and KPIs, while ensuring effective processes, templates and consistency across all CTEC regions.
3. Partnership & Stakeholder Management – Build and manage relationships with employers, funders, awarding bodies, colleges and internal teams; coordinate multi‑site delivery; lead national employer brokerage, partnerships and compliance checks.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting – Establish data‑sharing protocols, track progress, manage risks, lead the national evaluation model, and produce performance, financial and compliance reports for funders, leadership and stakeholders.
5. Collaboration, Governance & Compliance – Coordinate cross‑CTEC working groups and governance structures; represent the programme at internal/external meetings; support Group events; and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and ongoing training requirements.

About you:

6. Qualifications & Relevant Background – Level 2 Maths and English, with experience in education, workforce development or skills programmes, and a proven track record of delivering complex, multi‑stakeholder projects end‑to‑end.
7. Programme & Partnership Expertise – Strong ability to build and manage external partnerships, develop and evaluate professional development initiatives, and lead change across teams while maintaining strong professional relationships.
8. Leadership, Communication & Decision‑Making– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong leadership and people management capability, and high‑level problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
9. Analytical, Financial & Digital Skills – Skilled in interpreting data and performance information, competent in budget monitoring, and highly IT‑literate with strong proficiency in MS Office and digital project management tools.
10. Professionalism, Flexibility & Values – Able to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and hours, travel across campuses, maintain professional boundaries, and demonstrate integrity, accountability and alignment with safeguarding, EDI and H&S standards.
