Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: South Ockendon
Salary Range: £90-£130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
Do you enjoy leading, learning and supporting teachers to deliver exceptional classroom experiences? If so, GSL Education are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in South Ockendon from September 2025.
About the Role:
This role is ideal for experienced support staff looking to step into a leadership role within the classroom. You will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons in the teacher’s absence, supporting whole-class and small group learning, and contributing to the wider development of pupils across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and structured lessons to primary pupils using provided planning.
* Provide academic and emotional support to individuals and groups across the curriculum.
* Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to adapt resources and support diverse learning needs.
* Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
Job Requirements:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent recognised experience.
* Previous experience in a UK primary school setting.
* Confidence in leading a class and managing behaviour.
* Knowledge of the national primary curriculum.
* A proactive and adaptable approach with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
