Position
An opportunity has arisen in the East Sector Estates Department for a suitably experienced permanent Mechanical Supervisor bsed in University Hospital Crosshouse.
Hours:
37 per week ( 8.00am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am to 1.00pm Friday )
You will also be required to take part in an on call rota/night shift rota and be able to work at other hospitals within Ayrshire to meet the demands of the service. Due to the requirement to participate in an on call rota it is desirable that the successful applicant should live no more than 30 minutes travelling time from the hospital.
What you will do:
You will maximise the efficiency and quality of the mechanical, electrical and environmental services of NHS Ayrshire & Arran General Hospitals Division through the appropriate scheduling of work, making the most efficient use of the resources available - labour, materials and time.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Following completion of a recognised apprenticeship and having gained extensive experience in this field, you will lead a team of technicians responsible for the delivery of engineering services within the hospital environment and community premises. You should be able to demonstrate versatility and experience on a range of complex mechanical engineering work in addition to being an effective leader and good communicator.
A City & Guilds Craft Certificate/ Level 3 Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent is essential. Extensive experience in maintaining critical building services within a hospital environment including Lifts, HVAC, Gas/Biomass boilers, Building Management Systems, Medical Gas Pipeline systems and using a Computer Aided Facilities Management (CaFM) system would be an advantage.
