The Role
To lead the development and delivery of improvement programmes to support service transformation through delivery of a range of high impact changes with a specific focus on improving patient flow. The Service Improvement Manager will also work to develop local capability to ensure sustainable service improvement longer term. This is a generic role which will be allocated to lead specific improvement programmes as required. The post-holder will be required to work closely with a large number of different services to facilitate improvements in both patient flow and the quality of patient journeys.

What we'll need you to bring
Qualifications and Experience
1. Degree level and Postgraduate level qualification in e.g. business / management / change
2. Significant experience and knowledge of health service management, including change management and service/workforce redesign acquired through training and experience
3. Significant experience in Change Management Skills including improvement methodology
4. Experience of managing clinical and organisational challenges
5. Ability to handle complex work without supervision
6. Ability to negotiating and facilitating change with staff and stakeholders at all levels
7. Knowledge of planning, operational processes and systems
8. Experience of working in a programme or project environment
Skills / Qualities / Aptitudes
9. Effective Communicator
10. Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team
11. IT Literate
12. Self motivated, proactive and innovative
Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
It would be great if you also have
13. Project Management training
14. Lean Change Agent training or
15. ScIL training
16. Experience in analysing and leading improvement projects in patient flow and Service modernisation
17. Evidence of leading a multi-disciplinary team through successful service change
18. Knowledge of NHS Systems
19. Ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets extracting key information and communicating this effectively
20. High level change management skills including improvement methodology
21. Ability to motivate colleagues from a diverse range of specialities and professions

22. Fixed Term or Secondment until July 2027

Please note this is a fixed term post until July 2027. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Hospital Services within University Hospital Monklands
