Arborist / Climber - South Oxfordshire (Field-Based) - £36,000 – £42,000
The Job
This is a hands on field based role suited to an experienced professional with a strong background in tree work, who is confident working at height and committed to high standards of safety and workmanship. You will play a key role in delivering a wide range of arboricultural services across domestic and commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out all aspects of tree surgery including climbing, pruning, dismantling and felling
- Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, chippers and rigging systems
- Perform aerial rescue operations when required
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with industry best practices
- Conduct site assessments and identify potential hazards
- Work effectively as part of a team to deliver projects on time
- Maintain tools, equipment and vehicles in good working order
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with clients on site
The Candidate:
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in arboriculture or tree surgery
- Relevant certifications (e.g., NPTC/LANTRA units for chainsaw use, climbing and aerial rescue)
- Proven experience in climbing and aerial tree work
- Good understanding of health and safety practices within arboriculture
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience with large tree dismantling and rigging techniques
- MEWP certification
- First Aid certification (Forestry +F preferred)
- Knowledge of tree identification and basic tree health assessment

- Salary £36,000 – £42,000 DOE

Candidate Requirements
All applicants must hold a minimum of an NVQ Level 2, Scottish NVQ Level 2, or an equivalent qualification relevant to the role applied for. Candidates must also have the legal right to work in the UK or hold a valid visa permitting employment.
