IAMI is looking for a dynamic CEO to lead our next phase of growth.
The International Association of Maritime Institutions (IAMI) is the largest global network of maritime colleges and universities, with over a century of history and a growing international presence. IAMI fosters collaboration among regulators, employers, educators, and governments to enhance maritime education and training worldwide. Working with key industry partners like the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and the Chamber of Shipping, IAMI develops standards, offers course accreditations, and shapes maritime education policies. It operates specialised training sub-groups, including the industry-driven GUEST program for Superyacht training. IAMI also facilitates exams, certifications, and conducts an Annual General Meeting and Conference to drive innovation in global maritime education.
This is a full-time remote role for a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at IAMI. The CEO will provide strategic direction to the organisation, fostering partnerships with global maritime institutions and stakeholders. Responsibilities include overseeing operational management, driving financial strategy, formulating and executing business plans, and identifying growth opportunities. The CEO will lead initiatives in strategic planning, represent IAMI at industry events, and ensure compliance with organisational goals while steering the advancement of maritime education standards worldwide.
The role:
You’ll provide strategic leadership while staying hands-on in daily operations. You’ll guide our five-year strategy, support our team, strengthen our financial position, and represent IAMI across the sector.

* Expand our Digital Assessment, GUEST and End Point Assessment programmes
You bring:
* Senior leadership experience (education and/or maritime preferred)
* Strong governance, financial, and stakeholder skills
* Ability to work strategically and operationally
* A collaborative, values-led, and forward-thinking approach
