Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated staff for an MLA position in our busy Histopathology laboratory at Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital. We are looking for someone who is positive, proactive, and attentive to detail. You will be involved in sample management and processing in a clinical setting.
The ideal candidate will hold A level qualifications, preferably in English, Maths, and Science, with some laboratory experience; however, full training will be provided. The post is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, between 9 am and 5 pm.
Minimum Qualifications:
* 2 A-level passes (or equivalent), including a science subject
* GCSE Grade 4-9 or equivalent in English, Maths, Science, IT
Essential Criteria:
* Experience following detailed workplace procedures
* Experience applying working practices in line with health and safety legislation
Desirable Criteria:
* Experience working in a pathology or cellular pathology laboratory
* Experience with NHS administration or support roles, including computer systems and accurate data entry
* Awareness of key safety legislation
* Experience with data entry into NHS systems, organized with good time management skills
* Ability to work as part of a team and flexibly to meet service needs
* Ability to cope with tight deadlines
