Job Description

The new role of Philanthropy Manager is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, fundraising-savvy candidate to help Fauna & Flora achieve its ambitious fundraising goals. The role will focus on deepening relationships with our mid-level donors, those typically giving between £1,000 and £9,999 per annum.

Our key audiences are currently in the UK and USA – where we are developing an in-country fundraising team that this role will work closely with. This successful candidate will bring a passion for finding solutions for nature, people and climate, and be able to inspire and convey that passion convincingly to donors through personal outreach and engaging written communications.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative fundraiser with relevant experience within the charity sector, and particularly with securing donations from midlevel donors and for developing relationships with supporters.

We are also seeking a candidate with the ability to build strong internal relationships in order to track the delivery of projects and inspiring reporting for donors. The role represents an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to work in a fast moving and dynamic environment, supporting globally important approaches for people, nature and climate. In addition, Fauna & Flora offers a generous pension contribution, attractive annual leave allowance and life insurance.

As a Philanthropy Manager at Fauna & Flora, you will be responsible for the following:

* Develop and implement approach strategies and actions for individual mid-level donors, working with the support of the Research & Insight team (and other fundraising teams where appropriate) in order to develop long term mutually beneficial relationships with maximum return for conservation.
* Manage your own portfolio of mid value donor relationships, in addition to supporting the Philanthropy team and wider fundraising team in other relationships, as required.
* Work with the Philanthropy team to identify, cultivate and steward mid (and high) value gifts prospects with an identified gift level of £1,000 and up, and help qualify prospects and determine whether appropriate for mid and high value gifts.
* Contribute to, and help to implement annual plans and budgets to achieve targets, in consultation with the Senior Philanthropy Adviser and in coordination with the Philanthropy team.
* Work with the Philanthropy team in the development and implementation of a programme of meetings, events and project trips for mid value donors, and represent Fauna & Flora as appropriate.
* Effectively present and articulate the work of Fauna & Flora, presenting a compelling case for support for the organisation in a range of communication approaches both oral and written.
* Develop excellent working relationships with existing and new donors and prospects, and other connectors or advisers especially in the UK and also in the USA, in order to identify and pursue further mid and major donor level funding opportunities in collaboration with the Senior Philanthropy Adviser.
* Contribute to the development of effective donor marketing and engagement communications, including brochures, presentations, reports, cases for support, proposals and online communications, working with the Philanthropy Engagement team.
* Monitor and evaluate activities against plans and budgets on a continual basis, providing regular updates to the Senior Philanthropy Adviser.
* Ensure that activities undertaken are in accordance with Data Protection legislation and appropriate Fauna & Flora policies, procedures and systems.
* Ensure adherence to relevant legislation and follow best fundraising practice guidelines, especially the Fundraising Regulator.
* Ensure our CRM database is regularly updated with all strategy, actions and correspondence, and ensure any feedback or intelligence is recorded appropriately, and that data and evaluation is used to inform learning and future practice.
