Responsibilities
Working closely with all members of MDT and associated clerical staff, the postholder will be responsible for ensuring the timely and planned movement of cancer and suspected cancer patients through their journey from referral onwards. They will co‑ordinate and monitor the investigation and treatment journey for urgent patients ensuring delays are pre‑empted and resolved to enable the patients to receive treatment in line with national targets.
Qualifications
* HND Business Administration or equivalent experience
* Minimum 3 years administration experience within a hospital setting
* Proficient in use of software systems
* Advanced keyboard skills
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Track record of ability to prioritise and problem solve
* A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence
* Knowledge of medical terminology (desirable)
* Understanding of the importance of data quality (desirable)
* Knowledge of cancer waiting times standards (desirable)
* Proficient in the use of hospital systems including Trakcare (desirable)
* Excellent interpersonal skills (desirable)
* Thorough and meticulous (desirable)
Contract Details
Permanent, Part‑time – 18.5 hours per week. Salary will be pro‑rata.
Location
This role will be based in Cancer Services within University Hospital Wishaw. Applicants who are shortlisted may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
