About the Role
As a Senior Accounts Assistant, you'll play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of day-to-day financial processes and reporting. You'll take ownership of monthly deliverables, help ensure compliance with internal financial policies, and support strategic financial decision-making across departments.
This position would suit a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and previous experience in a manufacturing finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee invoice processing and supplier payments, including managing multi-currency payment runs
2. Prepare and review aged debtor and creditor balances, taking proactive action when required
3. Handle bank, stock, and intercompany reconciliations
4. Support royalty reporting and contribute to cash flow forecasts and currency management
5. Process monthly payroll and generate associated reports
6. Produce monthly management accounts: profit & loss, balance sheet, and group consolidation
7. Collaborate with operational teams to monitor expenditure and budget performance
8. Support the budgeting process and carry out ad hoc financial analysis
9. Act as a key user and department liaison for the ERP system, assisting with testing and system improvements
Skills & Experience Required
1. Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
2. Confident with numbers, problem-solving, and data analysis
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
4. Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
5. Experience in a finance role within a manufacturing or product-based environment
6. Familiarity with ERP systems (Epicor or similar) is highly desirable
7. Part-qualified Accounting Technician (e.g., AAT) or actively studying toward a qualification (e.g., CIMA), or qualified by experience
