Overview
HR Specialist role at Agena Group. This position focuses on employee relations (ER) casework) and provides advisory HR support to staff, managers, and the business.
Responsibilities and duties
You will be the first point of contact for all employees and focus on improving the employee experience across the Agena Group. You will contribute to ongoing improvements and be involved in current and future projects.
People Administration
* Manage the HR inbox and respond to queries in line with SLAs
* Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data
* Support absence management and ensure return-to-work processes are completed
* Provide cover for the People & Recruitment Coordinator during busy periods
Employee Relations
* Act as the first point of contact for ER issues including conduct, capability, absence, and performance
* Support investigations, disciplinary and grievance procedures
* Coach managers on HR policy and ER best practice
* Monitor ER trends and support continuous improvement
* Support organisational change, including consultation and TUPE
Compliance
* Ensure HR processes comply with UK employment law and ISO 9001 standards
* Conduct regular audits across the employee lifecycle
* Champion quality assurance across People services
Policies & Projects
* Develop and update HR policies with a people-first, empathetic approach
* Deliver policy training to managers
* Conduct exit interviews and follow up on insights
* Contribute to people-led initiatives to enhance culture and engagement
Requirements
Who you are
* Experience in a People team that includes ER casework
* Good knowledge of UK law and HR best practices
* Confident managing multiple ER cases in a fast-paced environment
* Focus on quality assurance and compliance initiatives
* Ability to work in a fast-paced SME environment (advantageous but not essential)
* Willingness to study towards CIPD Level 3 or 5 Apprenticeship (18-month commitment) if not already held
* Eagerness to learn and develop skills within the Agena Group

Other information
* Salary: £34,000 - £37,000 per annum, depending on experience
* Hours: 40 per week; Monday – Friday 9:00–17:30. Part-time discussion possible for the right candidate
* Location: Lancing with hybrid flexibility (3 days in the office, 2 from home). Free onsite parking
