Job Description


Working as an integral member of the AGS Airports HR team and directly supporting the local Glasgow Airport management team, the HRBP will proactively plan and meet the people needs of the business, in co-ordination with other members of the HR team as required.

Principle accountabilities

* Act as first point of contact, and provide expert advice and support to managers on all absence, disciplinary, grievance and other related ER issues
* Liaise with wider AGS Airports HR Team in other parts of the business in order to work collaboratively on cross business unit matters
* Advise and support the Managing Director with the annual local pay negotiation discussions with the recognised Trade Union (Unite)
* Manage and support the Occupational Health provision, to ensure employees are supported back to work
* Advise, support and assist in developing capability, employee engagement and talent building agenda within assigned part of the business; responsible for ensuring that people management capability is transferred to, and owned by, the line with additional support from HR Central Services
* Demonstrate support and alignment to the business strategy and People and Culture strategy
* Embed the People & Culture Strategy across Glasgow Airport, ensuring the business develops the capability and capacity needed to deliver its ambition
* Liaise with other HR roles providing specialist or project support to the Business Unit, including HR Central Services, ensuring that all needs within area of responsibility are met in an effective and efficient way
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with management teams, challenging their thinking and working closely with them to co-develop solutions to meet their current and future business needs, ensuring that HR service delivery (and process) is aligned to overall strategy, and that the people values and the commercial needs of the business are balanced
* Coach and support managers on general HR issues, including reward, particularly sensitive or complex employee relations and performance management issues
* Develop a collaborative working relationship with both employee union representatives and full time officials
* Support and develop managers in the management of sickness absence with the aim of meeting annual sickness absence targets
* Using HR data analytics, sourced both locally and through HR Central Services, present regular and timely updates to the Director of Business Partnering and the Airport management team to ensure they are fully briefed on HR matters, with clear insights on both challenges and progress
* Manage the annual pay cycle for Glasgow with the support of HR Central Services
* Champion and embed AGS’s Diversity, Equality & Inclusion (DE&I) agenda across Glasgow Airport, partnering with leaders to create an inclusive culture, ensure fair and consistent people practices, and deliver the DE&I roadmap and wellbeing initiatives.
* Support wider AGS HR projects as required on an ad-hoc basis


Qualifications

The HR Business Partner will require to have/be:

* Experience in commercial HR environments
* Graduate calibre or equivalent experience
* CIPD qualified
* Can demonstrate acquisition of HR technical competencies through HR generalist experience
* Proven ability to help create high performing organisations
* Proven ability to identify ‘potential’, develop and retain talent
* Passionate about customer service
* Broad understanding of employment law framework, understands when to seek legal advice
* Excellent interpersonal skills and proven track record of influencing business leaders
* PC literate including proficiency in Microsoft Packages. Advanced Excel skills advantageous.
* Ability to understand, analyse and interpret a range of MI and data
