Are you a qualified Speech & Language Therapist wanting to use your skills working with children, young people and their families? The Childrens Integrated Therapy Service are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated qualified speech & language therapist to join our experienced and friendly Hyndburn, Ribble Valley and Rossendale based locality team.
Experience of working in paediatrics is desirable but not essential. We work with children and young people aged 0- 19 with well developed and evidenced based pathways covering the needs of children with communication needs. We can offer clinical and management supervision, specialist support by experienced senior staff, continuing professional development and specialist SLT Forums.
Job Summary
The team comprises of speech and language therapists and occupational therapists, consisting of both therapists and assistants. We work closely with colleagues in health, education and social care to provide a genuinely child-centred service. We work in a variety of locations, including clinics, childrens own homes, nurseries and schools.
The successful candidate must be able to effectively manage their own time, and demonstrate excellent communication skills. An interest in working with children and their families is essential.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Professional Degree or equivalent in Speech & Language Therapy
* Evidence of formal training / self-study / specialist experience to post graduate level
* Evidence of continued professional development
Knowledge
* Understanding of clinical governance framework & implications for practice, including audit and research governance
* Knowledge of research, evidence-based practice and current issues relating to client group
* Knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools for children with diverse needs
Experience
* Evidence of recent and relevant post graduate experience encompassing the specialist field of practice
* Safeguarding of children and implementation of policy and procedures with evidence of training/updates
* Demonstrable evidence of improving and developing service and practice
Skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
* Problem solving/ Decision making in relation to clinical practice, HCPC standards and implications for practice
* Able to work independently as lead specialist
