Project Manager – Fire & Security Systems
Location: Exeter (Hybrid) with occasional UK-wide travel

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in fire and security systems? A growing national business is seeking a driven and commercially minded professional to oversee and deliver multiple projects with values up to £250k. This is a key position within a structured team that rewards ownership, accountability, and high‑quality delivery.
About the Role
You will take full responsibility for project delivery from handover to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to technical and compliance standards. With 70% of work focused on fire systems and 30% on security, you’ll manage a portfolio of live projects at any one time.
This is a hands‑on, commercially focused Project Manager role where you will drive programme management, financial control, client communication, and technical assurance. The business offers clear progression opportunities, including a pathway to a future Head of Projects role.
Key Responsibilities
Manage full project lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery and client satisfaction
Develop and maintain project programmes, milestones, and delivery plans
Coordinate engineers, suppliers, and internal teams to meet deadlines
Control project financials, protecting gross margins and managing variations
Lead client communication, chairing kick‑off and progress meetings
Oversee technical quality and compliance across fire and security systems
Maintain accurate reporting and project records using systems such as Salesforce and ArcSite
Skills & Experience
Essential:
Proven experience delivering fire and/or security projects
Strong capability in programme, cost, risk, and quality management
Demonstrable commercial awareness and margin protection experience
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Confident communicator with clients and internal teams
Preferred:
PRINCE2, APM or similar project management qualification
Experience using Salesforce, ArcSite or similar platforms
Strong understanding of UK fire and security standards (BS5839, BS5266, BS5306 etc.)
