Excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Manager to join a chilled food facility based in Hertfordshire.
My client produces over, fresh, nutritious chilled ready meals every week. They are a well invested, small to medium operation and are BRC AA standard.
My client is looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to lead and develop the production team on an initial six-month contract.
Reporting into the Factory Manager, you will work closely with the Engineering Manager and Technical Manager on site to ensure customer orders are delivered on time, in full.
The role includes the management of incoming goods and stock Management, high care meal assembly, low care pick and pack and final despatch. You will be managing a team of c. 40 staff and have two Supervisors reporting into you.
Key accountabilities will involve;
1. Managing materials to ensure waste is kept to a minimum
2. Planning labour for the site ensuring costs are kept under control
3. Liaising with Technical to ensure hygiene levels are maintained throughout the departments and ensure the department is prepared for internal and external visitors to achieve targeted internal GMP and external audits
4. Communicating any engineering issues to ensure a timely resolution and ensure agreed OEE levels are achieved
5. Ensuring the department complies to the businesses policies, procedures, and specifications
6. Motivating and developing the Team Leaders and identifying any skill gaps and initiating training and recruitment as appropriate
7. Supervising all H&S meetings and co-ordinating risk assessment completion ensuring accidents and near misses are kept to a minimum
8. Driving Continuous Improvement across the department
Monday – Friday days based 40hrs per week.

9. Proven experience of leading a team in a food production environment (chilled desirable)
10. Knowledge and experience of GMP
11. Good levels of numeracy and literacy
12. A “Can do” attitude
