School Business Administration Apprentice
Location: Willenhall Community Primary School, St James Lane, Coventry, CV3 3DB
A Business Administration Apprenticeship allows for participation in the day-to-day running of a business, forming the cornerstone of a workplace.
Under the direction of the Office Manager you will ensure the efficient and effective operation of the administrative function and systems within the school, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
You will be the first point of contact for callers and visitors to the school, offering professional guidance and assistance both personally and by telephone ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.
This apprenticeship provides transferable skills including administration, communication, IT and customer service, which can be utilised across a broad spectrum of future roles.
Reception & Communication:
Provide professional reception services, including greeting visitors, ensuring security, and managing visitor bookings.
Handle telephone calls, emails, and mail, distributing messages and information.
Process parent communications, including letters, emails, SMS, and online payments.
Maintain school information boards and update the school's social media (Twitter).
Business Support:
Support the administration of school meals, extra-curricular clubs, and school trips.
Manage administrative tasks, including photocopying, laminating, and distributing paperwork.
Monitor and order office supplies, and manage equipment maintenance (photocopiers).
Process deliveries and maintain accurate pupil and parent data, including consent forms.
Manage uniform sales and provide cover for other admin staff.
Maintain confidentiality and perform other related duties as required.
Skills:
Highly ICT literate and knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office
Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
To maintain confidentiality in all matters
Qualifications:
GCSE Maths and English (grade 9-4 or equivalent)

Business Administration Level 3 Standard, 18 months practical with an additional 2 months End Point Assessment period.
Functional Skills in Maths, English, and ICT (if required).
