Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for development within the Sandwell School Health Nursing Service. We are seeking highly motivated, committed, innovative nurses with a desire to make a difference to children and young people working within the public health agenda. As a student School Nurse you will engage in training in order to complete the BSC (Hons) Degree in Community Health (Specialist Practitioner award in School Nursing). This will involve liaising with all relevant parties within the practice area and at the assigned University in order to gain the desired 50% theory and 50% practical element of the course. To attain successful completion the student will be required to work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team within the School Nursing Team, carrying out clinical duties with patients/clients as agreed with your Lead nurse for development and training within the service.

Sandwell School Health Nurses strive to deliver services that are visible and accessible to the school aged population of Sandwell, delivering universal public health services and ensuring early help and extra support is available to children and young people at the times when they need it.
Team Composition
The team is made up of a skill mixed workforce ranging from admin officers, support workers, staff nurses, and specialist practitioners.
