Job Title: Electro/Mechanical Fitter
Term: Permanent, Full-Time
Working Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 08:30–17:15
Friday: 08:00–12:30
Total: 37.5 hours per week
Role Overview:We are seeking a skilled Electro/Mechanical Fitter to join our engineering team. This role involves the mechanical and electrical assembly of high-precision measurement machines, jigs, and fixtures. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers, fitters, and wiremen to build complete systems from component level to finished product.
Key Responsibilities
Assemble mechanical and electrical components for precision measurement machines.
Perform bench fitting and mechanical assembly tasks.
Make minor adjustments to components using lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders.
Verify geometric tolerances using first principle measurement tools (e.g., DTI’s, gauge blocks).
Assemble pneumatic systems and interpret pneumatic schematics.
Conduct fault finding across electrical and mechanical systems.
Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and general assembly schematics.
Carry out electrical panel wiring and interpret electrical/electronic diagrams.
Support calibration and fault finding on DC control systems.
Apply knowledge of stepper motors, control systems, sensors, and BUS systems.Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Level 3 Engineering qualification or time-served equivalent.
HNC qualification desirable.
Proven experience in mechanical/electrical fitting within a manufacturing or engineering environment.Personal Attributes:
