Cable Assistant ABOUT THE ROLE A BRIEF SUMMARY This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for a developmental/entry level role in an exciting and vibrant industry. As a Cable Warehouse Assistant, you will be working closely with a team to help with the safe loading and safe unloading of OB trucks in our Warehouse in High Wycombe. Whilst in base you will be trained to learn the various cables used in the broadcasting industry. Using load lists to make sure correct cables and quantities are loaded onto correct trucks as per client requests. You may be asked to help assist with driving duties, picking up or dropping off cables as and when requested using company vehicles. Occasionally you may be required to onsite locations to help assist with the rigging team, on site your responsibilities are to help rig the OB cables in a safe working environment as per Unit managers and client requests. This is a great opportunity to see how we set up an Outside Broadcast whilst on location, and your training in base will help you with this. You may be required to “Cable Bash” which consists of working closely with the camera operator, you will have to be vigilant and quick to feed off or coil in slack cable as per operator movements in a live sporting environment. As part of the cable team in base you would also be asked to work weekends as part of a rota with the rest of the team. WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR Loading of OB trucks as per load sheet. Unloading of OB trucks. Testing and maintaining cables (training provided) General warehouse duties. Occasional driving job. On-site rigging assistance. In-house fibre splicing (training provided) Representing our company values either at base in High Wycombe or onsite locations.
