Salary: Up to £42,950 dependent on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
1. Ensure that all aspects of Welder approvals and Welding procedures are up to date and correctly maintained.
2. Interpret standards and specifications in relation to welding and associated processes.
3. Resolve shop floor and production welding related problems.
4. Support continuous improvement practices within the welding processes.
5. Advise Operations on the optimum welding processes to achieve safety, quality, and cost performance goals.
6. Collaborate with colleagues across the UK, Australia, and Canada to share best practices and learnings across various programmes.
Your skills and experiences:
* High level of welding process awareness with practical skills on most welding processes, equipment, and techniques.
* An industry-recognised qualification in welding technology or willingness to work towards one.
* Good knowledge of welding processes in shipbuilding, manufacturing, or similar heavy engineering environments.
* Ability to understand weld inspection and NDE techniques.

The BAE Systems Welding Engineering Team:
The team ensures compliance with standards and drives improvements in welding processes. With recent investments in robotic welding systems, the team of 5 engineers is expanding to support the Shipbuilding programmes on the Clyde. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, help optimise welding processes, and shape future programmes.
