About the School
Horizon Teachers are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated
SEN Teaching Assistant
to join our warm and welcoming primary school in Kingston. This role is based in our vibrant EYFS classroom, supporting both the whole class and working 1:1 with a child with mild special educational needs. Our dedicated staff work closely together to create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment where children feel valued and excited to learn. We have a strong focus on early years development and inclusive education, making this an ideal setting for those passionate about making a difference from the very start of a child's school journey.
Role & Responsibilities
Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality, play-based learning activities across the EYFS curriculum
Working closely with a child with mild SEN needs, helping to implement and adapt individual learning strategies
Providing 1:1 and small group support to reinforce learning, improve confidence and encourage independence
Helping to manage classroom routines and behaviour in a positive and consistent way
Assisting with observations and assessments, contributing to planning for individual progress
Supporting with the development of communication, language, and social skills through structured activities and child-led play
Liaising regularly with teaching staff, and parents/carers to ensure the childs needs are being met effectively
About you
Has experience working in an EYFS or primary school setting (desirable but not essential)
Has a calm, patient and positive approach
Is committed to supporting children with a range of needs
Works well as part of a team
Is proactive, reliable and flexible
