CNC Machinist – Full Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to programme, set, and operate CNC lathes and mills to produce precision components for a variety of industries.
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified engineer with strong CNC experience, capable of programming, setting, and operating machines. Experience with CAD/CAM programming is desirable, and familiarity with Fanuc controls is advantageous.
Experience within the aerospace sector is beneficial but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Produce accurate, high-quality components
Plan production methods, create programmes, and identify tooling and fixture requirements
Make offsets or minor programme adjustments to meet drawing specifications and customer requirements
Perform jig and fixture making
Interpret and work from engineering drawings
Machine a variety of metals
Work confidently to tight tolerances and inspect own work during batch production
Adhere to production schedules
Programme and set machines within allocated times, aiming to improve run rates where possible
Follow company quality procedures in line with AS9100 standards
Create new programmes based on customer drawings
Optimise programmes to improve cycle times
Operate basic manual machines when required
Requirements
Proven experience in CNC machining (programming, setting, and operating)
Strong understanding of engineering drawings
Experience working with various metals
Ability to work to tight tolerances
Familiarity with Fanuc controls (desirable)
CAD/CAM experience (desirable)
Aerospace industry experience (advantageous, not essential)
