We plan, coordinate, manage and optimise the transportation of goods ensuring they reach their destination efficiently and on time.\n\nThe Trainee Operations Coordinator will join the A-Sonic Logistics (UK) Limited team in \nGlasgow and work closely with their colleagues to learn, develop and continuously improve \noperations processes by delivering the Companyâs full range of freight forwarding activities. \n\nPRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: \n⢠Ensure A-Sonic Logistics (UK) Limitedâs agents, customers and international colleagues and \npartners receive excellent levels of customer service \n⢠Develop an understanding of customer requirements and expectations in line with the ethos \nof providing 100% customer satisfaction \n⢠Provide a fully multi-modal freight forwarding service by completing end-to-end operational \nprocesses for international export/import and domestic jobs \n\nPRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: \n⢠Ensure A-Sonic Logistics (UK) Limitedâs agents, customers and international colleagues and \npartners receive excellent levels of customer service \n⢠Develop an understanding of customer requirements and expectations in line with the ethos \nof providing 100% customer satisfaction \n⢠Provide a fully multi-modal freight forwarding service by completing end-to-end operational \nprocesses for international export/import and domestic jobs \n\nKEY TASKS AND DUTIES: \n⢠Accept email and telephone enquiries and freight bookings; evaluate and interpret customer \nrequirements \n⢠Process bookings; review, enter and issue documents by using a range of operating systems \n⢠Progress/chase shipments and ensure colleagues, customers and suppliers are updated in \na timely manner \n\nAdministration & Financial \n⢠Accurately maintain Company paper and electronic filing systems \n⢠Supplier cost checking and invoice loading \n⢠Prepare and send customer invoices \n⢠Liaise with colleagues to resolve queries \n\nCommunication \n⢠Maintain and develop colleague and customer relationships, including overseas agents and \noffices, carriers, sub-contractors and suppliers \n⢠Ensure that deadlines are met and that colleagues/customers are kept informed of progress \nand exceptions \n⢠Communicate within the team; support and share information with others \n The successful candidate will develop a range of skills including customer service, administration and communication within a business environment. The role will help build teamwork, time management, problem solving and attention to detail within a fast-paced logistics environment.\n\nYou will also be working towards your Business Admin SCQF 6 Qualification.
