Here at Saga Plc, we are recruiting for an experienced Technology Engineer to join our in-house team to support on business-critical projects that focus on technology security enhancements across insurance, travel and our partners.
Role Introduction
Technology Engineer – SecOps
Hybrid – Folkestone, Kent. This role involves hands-on work with Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Exchange Online to keep environments secure, efficient, and future-ready. The team is based in Folkestone 2 days a week with 3 days from home. There is potential for contract to lead to a permanent opportunity.
Responsibilities
* To provide technical expertise to support project delivery tasks; implementation of new infrastructure and security functionality to support the Saga business units.
* Develop and maintain technical and process documentation, and ensure all information is accurate and up to date.
* Monitor systems and proactively raise issues to the business and to the technology team where required.
* Initiate and implement technical change requests where required to support business projects or to resolve incidents, communicating progress to both internal and external stakeholders.
* Provide technical support to incidents raised by the business and ensure these are resolved within target resolution times.
* Research and apply the required security remediation and vulnerability management activities when required and within expected timescales.
The Ideal Candidate
We are keen to speak with Tech Engineers from large organisations or MSPs who have exposure to technology infrastructure in a customer facing organisation.
Candidates will need to demonstrate these key skills and meet the criteria below:
Microsoft 365 administration - strong knowledge of Intune, Exchange Online, including license management, security and compliance configuration and general product administration within the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Microsoft Entra - strong knowledge of Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) architecture, configuration and management. Experience with conditional access policies, MFA, SSO and application integrations.
Automation and scripting - proficiency in PowerShell for automation of M365 and Entra tasks.
Troubleshooting and support - advanced troubleshooting of authentication, access and service issues across M365 and Entra.
Candidates will ideally have;
* Knowledge and understanding of RBAC, privileged identity management (PIM) and Just-In-Time access.
* Experience with monitoring and reporting tools.
* Experience of maintaining and administering SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive.
* Microsoft 365 security and compliance knowledge - implementing and managing security controls, including DLP, MIP, and Defender for Office 365. Understanding of compliance features (eDiscovery, retention policies, auditing).
* Other relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Security Engineer Associate) are desirable.
