Overview
Senior Mental Health Nurse, HMP YOI Stirling – Secondment/Fixed term opportunity until May 2026 to cover maternity leave. This is a Band 6 mental health nurse role within Forth Valley Prison Healthcare, NHS Scotland.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high quality care and treatment within a multidisciplinary team in a prison healthcare setting, in partnership with SPS and wider agencies.
* Work as part of a holistic service to contribute to the mental health care needs, outcomes and experience of a complex and vulnerable population.
* Work as a first level registered mental health nurse with active UK NMC pin, with the ability to work autonomously and exercise a high level of clinical decision making.
* Be willing to rotate across areas of service delivery as required and travel across service delivery areas.
Qualifications and Experience
* First level registered mental health nurse with an active UK NMC pin.
* Ability to work autonomously with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ambitious, committed and supportive of developing a modern and innovative healthcare service.
Requirements
* All posts are subject to rotation. Ability and willingness to work and travel across the areas of service delivery is essential.

You will join the Mental Health nursing team in HMP Stirling, working in partnership with SPS and wider agencies within Forth Valley Prison Healthcare. The post holder will be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering care in a unique environment.
