AWE is seeking experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join our Design, Construction, and Commissioning team within the Capital Engineering Function working as part of the TEUTATES programme. This team is responsible for delivering a diverse array of bespoke engineering projects.
We are currently leading the largest construction project in Europe, focused on upgrading and replacing a diverse range of facilities, each presenting unique requirements and challenges. This treaty outlines the commitments of both nations to enhance cooperation on Hydrodynamic Trials, which are crucial for Nuclear Deterrent Research and Development.
The Programme comprises five key projects that deliver:
· Nuclear assembly operations and trials

A Degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline with professional registration
· Demonstratable practical mechanical design experience
· Experience of all aspects of project life cycle
· Knowledge of Engineered plant systems in Production/Process plant equipment, Building services or Utilities distribution & Engineering
· Pressure Vessels & Pressure Systems Substantiation & Design to PD5500, ASME, PED, Testing &Trials.
· Dynamic blast analysis
· Management of complex mechanical projects/ Designing for Maintenance.
· Mechanical handling & substantiation
· Manufacturing techniques & materials traceability.
· Construction/ Commissioning support experience.
· Complex gas system design, interlocks, working to nuclear safety cases.
· Mechanical Handling - Assembly equipment design/Technical project management & managing small technical contracts.
· Interfaces & physical works management in accordance with design
