At Wright’s Home Hardware, we pride ourselves on providing outstanding customer service in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

As a Sales Assistant, your role is to assist customers and promote sales in accordance with company policy.

This position is ideal for a school leaver or student.


Responsibilities

* Maintain high standards of shop cleanliness and housekeeping.
* Follow all Health & Safety procedures as per the company’s policy, liaising with HR Services Scotland as needed.
* Implement Fire Safety measures according to the Fire Action Plan.
* Create a welcoming environment for customers.
* Serve customers courteously, ensuring their wellbeing.
* Keep stock levels replenished, tidy shelves, and assist with product displays.
* Price and code merchandise correctly, ensuring price tickets are clearly displayed and replaced if missing.
* Handle incoming telephone calls professionally.
* Ensure a staff member is in the sales area during breaks.
* Report complaints or faulty products to the Shop Manager or Assistant.
* Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the shop, adhering to safety regulations.
* Assist with stock control, including daily checks, seasonal stock checks, and annual inventory.
* Organize reserve stock in the storeroom, ensuring it is identifiable, rotated, and tidy.
* Notify the Shop Manager of low stock levels or fast-selling products.
* Check deliveries from suppliers and organize stock placement.
* Help customers find suitable products to meet their needs.
* Ensure all purchases are charged correctly and processed accurately.
* Operate the cash register securely, handling cash and card transactions, and issuing receipts.
* Manage exchanges and refunds according to company policy.
* Assist with special product orders and liaise with suppliers.
* Perform any other duties as assigned by the Shop Manager.

Rota:

* Saturday: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
* Additional hours available on Fridays

Pay Rate: Dependent on age
