Ocean Infinity is seeking a WAN Architect with deep expertise in SD-WAN technology to design, implement, and optimize wide area network solutions across our global enterprise. Reporting to the Architecture and Platform Lead, this role requires a strong understanding of SD-WAN architectures, network security, and cloud based networking. The ideal candidate will also have hands on experience supporting data intensive operations in low bandwidth, high latency environments, such as those found in remote or satellite connected locations. A strong background in satellite communications (GEO/LEO) is highly desirable, as this role will focus on designing resilient, high performance networks for geographically distributed, remote, and maritime operations. The WAN Architect will be responsible for optimizing traffic, ensuring seamless connectivity, and implementing bandwidth efficient solutions that support mission critical applications. What will you do: Develop and implement SD-WAN solutions to optimize performance, security, and scalability across global locations; Engineer WAN architectures that support high volume data transfers over constrained networks; Design low-bandwidth, high-latency optimized network solutions using GEO and LEO satellite networks, ensuring reliability and seamless integration with terrestrial and wireless networks; Analyze operational traffic patterns, application behaviors, and data consumption to inform bandwidth management strategies and prioritize critical business services over constrained network links; Implement adaptive traffic routing, path selection, and QoS policies to maximize performance in challenging network conditions; Ensure SD-WAN solutions are designed and implemented according to best practices for Zero Trust security, including strong encryption, network segmentation, and adherence to relevant regulatory compliance standards; Architect WAN solutions that integrate with Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, optimizing connectivity for remote and cloud workloads; Develop highly available network architectures with automated failover and redundancy strategies; Work with SD-WAN vendors, satellite providers, and telecommunications partners to optimize network performance and SLAs; Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting for SD-WAN deployments, satellite links, and hybrid network models; Maintain detailed network architecture documentation and provide training to IT operations teams. Who you are: 7 years of experience in WAN architecture utilizing SD-WAN solutions; Expertise in SD-WAN platforms such as Cisco Viptela, Fortinet, Versa, Silver Peak, VMware Velocloud, or similar; Strong understanding of routing protocols, network segmentation, and traffic engineering; Experience working with data intensive applications over constrained networks, including latency mitigation strategies and bandwidth optimization; Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and network security best practices; Strong experience designing networks for low-bandwidth and high-latency environments, including WAN acceleration, traffic shaping, and application aware routing; Strong knowledge of QoS, SD-WAN traffic steering, WAN optimization, and application layer traffic shaping; Ability to design redundant and resilient network topologies across multiple connection types (MPLS, broadband, LTE/5G, satellite); Thoughtful, thorough and conscientious; Interested in others and strives to act in the best interests of the team; Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work; Integrity, credibility and maturity for confidential issues; Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with diplomacy; Ability to work as a trusted advisor with senior stakeholders; Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment; Strong communication skills; Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose; Critical thinking and ability to show initiative; Open and receptive to new and different ideas; Ability to work well in a team and independently; Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet. Desirable: Certifications such as CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise or Service Provider), SD-WAN vendor certifications (Cisco, Fortinet, VMware, etc.), or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science or related degree. Salary for this position: Up to £75,000 per annum Salary : The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
