Band 3 Higher Clerical Officer required on a temporary basis based in Derry / Loondonderry

Role: Band 3 Higher Clerical Officer

Rate of Pay: £

Location: 16+ Team, Robin Hill, L'Derry

Hours:

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Main duties/Responsibilities:

1. Act as receptionist for the department.
2. Making appointments and controlling the appointment system.
3. To undertake NIPACS safety lists as directed on a daily / weekly basis.
4. To check on a daily basis that Radiology recommendations are acted upon by the referrer.
5. Acting as a main link for enquiries from within and outside the department.
6. Dealing with patient related enquiries ensuring preservation of patient's confidentiality at all times.
7. Dealing with complaints from patients and other departments.
8. Participation in the induction and training of staff within the section and monitoring their progress / development in liaison with the Team Leader.
9. Helping to maintain a high standard of confidentiality of information in line with current legislation.
10. Be familiar with the rules and regulation applicable to the department.
11. Treating each patient / staff member as an individual in terms of courtesy, confidentiality, kindness and sympathy.
12. Participate in projects for the development of the Service as directed by senior officers.
13. To work within the rules and regulations applicable to the department.
14. To follow all Trust policies and protocols.
15. To adhere to IR(ME)R 2000 within the department.
16. To be willing to work extended days, evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
17. Attend mandatory training and training updates as required.
18. Any other duties and responsibilities appropriate to the grade as directed by Senior Officers.
19. Work in a co-operative and collaborative manner with other staff to ensure smooth running of imaging sessions.
20. Report any incidents or concerns involving patients, staff or equipment.
21. Participate in the Trust's appraisal conversations.
22. Monitor and ensure levels of stock, linen etc. are maintained for the relevant departmental areas.
23. Take receipt of deliveries and store items for use.
24. Undertake end of year stocktaking as required.
25. Dispose of waste in keeping with the Trust Policy on Waste Management.
26. Participate in flexible working arrangements to include working on evenings/weekends and Bank Holidays subject to the needs of the Department.
27. Work in a safe manner with regard to the use of Ionising Radiation complying with relevant Trust/Departmental policies.
28. Participate and contribute to the Radiology Quality Management System, and corresponding Quality Standard for Imaging (QSI) accreditation process.
29. Undertake duties, which are required to ensure adequate standards of environmental hygiene and prevent cross infection

Essential:

30. 5 GCSEs (Grade A-C) to include English

Language or equivalent qualifications or higher standard of education AND 1 year administrative/ clerical experience which must include cash handling experience

OR

NVQ Level II Business & Administration or equivalent AND 1 year administrative/ clerical experience which must include cash handling experience

OR

3 years administrative / clerical experience which must include cash handling experience
