We are currently looking for a Land Disposals Surveyor to join our Land Development Team at Tarmac. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on one of the largest land portfolios in the UK and develop your capabilities across numerous sectors including residential, commercial, natural capital, and leisure.
Tarmac's Land Development Team is innovative, high achieving, and successful, delivering projects ranging from a dozen homes to a new settlement, a rural business centre, to a 1 million+ square feet logistics hub, identifying and unlocking biodiversity and renewable opportunities, as well as leisure and recreation proposals.
You will work as part of an experienced, professional Land Development team (comprising Chartered Surveyors and Town Planners). You will contribute to team & company-wide projects and deliver significant profit to meet financial targets.
In this role, you will work closely with colleagues in Strategic Planning and Asset Management to identify opportunities within Tarmac's extensive landholdings and build relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
No two days are the same; this role will identify & unlock the potential in Tarmac’s extensive land portfolio.
Role Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the National Land Disposals Manager, the Land Disposals Surveyor will be responsible for (not exhaustive):
1. Working on a diverse national land portfolio, assisting with the disposal of development land to housebuilders, developers, and individuals.
2. Managing and developing the land and buildings property portfolio to drive value.
3. Collaborating with external agents, landowners, developers, tenants, and authorities.
4. Managing professional advisers and solicitors for timely advice.
The Ideal Candidate:
To succeed, you will have experience in valuation, property/asset management, and property development and disposal processes. You will:
1. Be experienced in real estate valuation appraisals.
2. Understand property and land law and legal processes.
3. Manage sales processes from start to finish, including marketing and negotiations.
4. Possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
5. Be capable of liaising with stakeholders at all levels.
6. Pay attention to detail and interpret complex documents.
7. Be motivated to add value and develop strategies for land use changes.
8. Be flexible, positive, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
