Job Description
Oversees day-to-day operations of one or more projects, directing, mentoring, and supporting operations managers and project teams. Ensures services are provided in accordance with client and company policies, procedures, and contractual obligations. Acts as the primary liaison with clients, managing project report summaries, budgets, audit results, staffing, and other critical issues. Ensures deliverables meet time, quality, and budget expectations.
Essential Functions:
1. Ensure timely and effective execution of deliverables, including scope of work, contractual issues, staffing changes, and budget negotiations. Serve as the primary client contact, troubleshoot database issues, phone routing, and other departmental concerns. Maintain project knowledge, coordinate new project operations, and monitor processes (QA, compliance, SOPs, regulatory) to maximize quality and client loyalty.
2. Manage staff responsibilities such as performance management, salary administration, hiring, employee relations, engagement, conflict resolution, and development.
3. Liaise with cross-functional leaders to drive project deliverables.
4. Ensure quality objectives are met by developing and maintaining SOPs, reviewing corporate SOPs, and ensuring compliance with policies, protocols, GCPs, and regulations.
5. Maintain profitability through management of billable hours and meet client budgetary goals.
6. Ensure accurate and timely client invoicing and communicate necessary changes to finance.
7. Participate in capabilities presentations to secure new business and alert leadership to new opportunities. Review and provide input on proposals, contracts, and renewals.
8. Contribute to the development of processes and strategies to meet division-wide goals.
9. Promote a culture of immediate action and proactive escalation.
Policy & Strategy
Establish and interpret operating policies and procedures affecting departments and work units. Develop budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
Freedom to Act
Work is objective-oriented and reviewed based on achievement of organizational goals and timelines.
Liaison
Interact frequently with management and client representatives regarding projects, decisions, scheduling, and contractual issues. Lead briefings and technical meetings.
Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industries, with proven leadership skills and at least 5 years of management responsibility.
* Advanced degrees such as Pharm.D, Ph.D., MS, or MD may substitute for some experience; equivalency considered based on education, training, and experience.
