Basic salary of £39,740 + £4,128 South Weighting, on call payment of up to £2,000k pa. Overtime available at management discretion of up to 8 hours per week. Certification payments for GasSafe £1500pa, 18th Edition £1000pa and HV Switching £1000pa.\n\nJob Role:\n\n * On a daily basis the position involves close, regular contact with the Area Supervisor who will direct you.
Operations staff may contact you for advice and guidance on training during normal working hours and outside these hours in line with the on-call Rota\n\n * You will work closely with Operations staff supporting them during servicing, guiding or helping them to resolve breakdowns and where possible, pass on skills in order that they can take on more routine maintenance, freeing your time for broader technical work.\n\n * You will also work with other members of the Engineering team and the Projects team in order to achieve your aims as set out below.\n\nMain responsibilities:\n\n * Day to day operations and maintenance including but not limited to, fault diagnosis, location and rectification.\n\n * Planned maintenance and breakdown response for the generating assets with minimum outages.\n\n * Ensuring a stock of basic spare parts as detailed by the Area Supervisor is replenished and always available.\n\n * A commitment to Health, Safety Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement.\n\n * Reducing the company’s reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.\n\n * Compliance and implementation of company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.\n\nKey tasks:\n\n * Utilisation and compliance of the company’s operations and maintenance procedures, manuals, record keeping and stock control systems.\n\n * Execution of all generator maintenance and the use of Operations staff to undertake minor maintenance on generators as required by the management.\n\n * Maintenance and repair of all mechanical, PV, storage, heat and electrical plant, including pumps and motors at all facilities.\n\n * Maintenance and inspection of LV electrical equipment subject to training and competency.\n\n * Operation of HV switchgear subject to training and competency.\n\n * Commissioning of new build associated equipment.\n\n * Incorporation of new sites into Operations.\n\n * Repair and maintenance of generators.\n\n * Training, support and supervision of Operations Technicians to undertake minor maintenance and simple fault finding.\n\n * Provide 24-hour emergency call out cover to respond to generator set failures when necessary.\n\n * Commitment to training to enhance knowledge and skill inc regard to environmental protection and materials.\n\n * Compilation and completion of outstanding works raised by site audits.\n\nKnowledge/ Experience\n\n * Extensive knowledge and experience of Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.\n\n * Recognised level in an Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.\n\n * Experience with electric control systems 12v DC – 415v AC 30ø\n\n * Fault location, diagnosis and rectification\n\n * Gassafe accreditation or ability to complete within probation\n\n * Electrical qualification or ability to complete 18th edition within probation\n\n * Experience working with Natural Gas Peaker Plants, CHP, PV, Energy Storage, HVAC systems is advantageous
