Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Planner to join our team. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the effective planning, scheduling, and coordination of all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring maximum equipment uptime and operational efficiency. The role also oversees maintenance-related stock and inventory management to ensure critical spares and materials are available as needed, minimizing downtime and controlling costs.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain maintenance schedules for all equipment and assets.
* Plan preventive and corrective maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion with minimal disruption to operations.
* Evaluate and prioritise maintenance work orders based on safety, operational impact, and urgency.
* Scope jobs fully by identifying required materials, tools, equipment, and manpower.
* Manage spare parts and maintenance stock inventory, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained.
* Monitor stock usage, generate requisitions, and work closely with the procurement team to order parts and materials in a timely manner.
* Track and manage inventory within the CMMS system, including stock checks, cycle counts, and reconciliations.
* Maintain the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track asset history, maintenance activities, and parts usage.
* Liaise with maintenance technicians, operations teams, external suppliers, and contractors to coordinate work.
* Prepare detailed job plans including safety procedures, estimated time, materials, and step-by-step instructions.
* Monitor and adjust maintenance plans based on operational needs and unforeseen issues.
* Analyse maintenance and inventory data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations as well as company policies.
* Support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and reliability improvement initiatives
* Proven experience in a management or supervisory role within a maintenance environment.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Solid mechanical knowledge coupled with electrical experience is essential.
* Familiarity with programmable logic controllers and the ability to read schematics is highly desirable.
* Excellent leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
* Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, are required for effective collaboration across departments.

The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills & competencies:
* Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
* Strong knowledge of inventory and stock control processes.
* Experience in CMMS and stock management systems (e.g. Agility, Maximo, Oracle, or similar).
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively under pressure.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
* Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and reliability.
* Familiarity with maintenance best practices, reliability strategies, and safety regulations.
* Hands-on experience with CMMS and inventory/stock management systems.
Proven experience as a Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Coordinator, or similar role would be desirable; including experience managing inventory, spare parts, and procurement processes.
A technical background in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline would also be a plus.
Previous knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO, IOSH etc.) would be helpful to you in this role, however training can be provided if required.
