Technical Author – Technical Publications (Defence)
Contract : 12 months- ongoing

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Author to deliver a full suite of AESP publications for armoured land vehicles. You will be responsible for defining, authoring, and assuring technical documentation to military standards. This is a long-term opportunity to contribute to a mission-critical Defence programme.
Key Responsibilities
* Content Definition : Review tasks, resolve documentation queries, and prepare data for authoring.
* Technical Authoring : Create high-quality technical documentation in accordance with AESPs, military standards, and best practices.
* Schedule & Risk Management : Support project milestones and proactively identify project risks.
* Compliance & Quality : Ensure content meets industry, customer, and internal standards.
* Process Improvement : Continuously drive improvements in authoring processes and documentation efficiency.
* Collaboration : Engage with engineering teams, training managers, and production colleagues to ensure delivery excellence.
* Cultural Contribution : Promote a “right-first-time” culture within the team.
Required Skills & Experience
* UK national with active SC clearance or eligible to obtain it (DBS required).
* Proven experience in technical authoring within Defence or engineering environments.
* Strong working knowledge of Army Equipment Support Publications (AESP) .
* Familiarity with armoured land vehicles and complex mechanical systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
* Excellent written and verbal English communication.
* Strong stakeholder management and issue resolution skills.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently.
