Join Oldham College – where quality drives opportunity
Oldham Colleges is looking to appoint a Quality Officer
Full time position. Salary £33,835 - £36,082
At Oldham College, quality sits at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to delivering high-quality education and training that improves student experience, outcomes, and progression. To support this ambition, we are seeking a Quality Officer to play a key role in strengthening our Further Education quality assurance and improvement activity.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to work across curriculum areas, supporting colleagues, embedding robust processes, and using data to drive continuous improvement.
The role
Working closely with the Senior Quality Assurance Lead, the Quality Officer will lead and support core Further and Vocational Education quality processes. The postholder will help ensure that a robust and effective system of quality assurance and improvement is in place, enabling the College to assess performance against key quality metrics.
The role involves supporting academic departments to understand and implement quality processes, providing guidance and expertise across the annual quality cycle, and contributing to the approval, review, and development of the Further Education portfolio.
You will work collaboratively with Heads of Faculty, curriculum colleagues, and Advocates to analyse performance data, identify areas of risk, and propose practical improvement solutions that enhance learner outcomes and experiences.
This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability, and confidence in working with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels across the College.
Key responsibilities
The Quality Officer will coordinate and support the preparation and delivery of core quality improvement processes and procedures relating to Further Education programmes. This includes overseeing data reporting and action tracking in preparation for quarterly performance reviews and supporting faculties to adhere to agreed quality processes within the academic activity cycle.
You will monitor College performance using a range of quality indicators, including ProAchieve, and proactively raise areas of concern to the Senior Quality Assurance Lead. You will coordinate responses to awarding body reviews and audits, including external verifier and moderator activity, and ensure that any follow-up actions are effectively managed.
You will contribute to the review and development of quality procedures, templates, and guidance documentation and support the smooth implementation of process changes through effective training and advice. You will also support internal verification and moderation activity, prepare analysis reports, and contribute to quality-related guidance circulated across the College and to partners where appropriate.
About you
You will have experience of working in a similar quality-focused role within Further Education and a strong understanding of curriculum delivery and awarding body requirements. You will be confident in using data to inform decision-making and quality improvement activity and will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You will be highly organised, proactive, and resilient, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. You will be motivated by improving outcomes for learners and committed to supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality provision.
