We’re about to open an exciting People Relations Advisor (Retail) contract with BP, supporting its UK Retail network.
The role officially goes live tomorrow, but we’re already starting early conversations with experienced HR professionals interested in joining BP’s people team on this short-term contract.
đź’Ľ About the Role
As a People Relations Advisor, you’ll act as a trusted HR partner to retail and field managers — providing hands-on advice, coaching, and guidance on all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
You’ll handle a mix of employee relations (ER) cases, long-term absence management, and manager coaching, while also contributing to HR projects and change initiatives.
🧩 Key Responsibilities
* Advise and guide managers on disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues.
* Manage long-term sickness absence cases with fairness and compliance.
* Deliver coaching and ER workshops to strengthen people management capability.
* Support HR transformation, policy updates, and change management activities.
* Maintain accurate HR documentation and ensure compliance with UK employment law.
* Collaborate with peers to deliver consistent, people-centered outcomes.
🌍 Work Pattern
* Hybrid: 3 days in the Milton Keynes office, 2 days remote.
* Contract: 1 Dec 2025 – 28 Feb 2026 (full-time, 40 hours/week).
🧠Ideal Profile
* 5+ years’ experience in Employee Relations, HR Advisory, or People Partnering roles.
* Background in retail, FMCG, or multi-site environments preferred.
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and ER best practice.
* Confident communicator with strong relationship-building skills.
* Organised, adaptable, and able to manage a varied ER caseload.
* CIPD qualification desirable (not essential).
