Haematology Nurse Specialist (Fixed Term / Secondment – 6 months)

Key Responsibilities
* Provide first‑class patient care for malignant and non‑malignant haematological patients, from diagnosis through treatment and palliative care.
* Act as key worker, supporting patients, their families and the multidisciplinary team.
* Plan, implement and review patient care pathways, ensuring evidence‑based practice.
* Run nurse‑led haematology clinics; prescribe, distribute and monitor medication and supportive therapy.
* Coordinate care pathways, promote personalised care and liaise with multi‑disciplinary colleagues to ensure best practice and high‑quality care.
* Contribute to service development and act as a clinical resource for other professionals within the trust.
Qualifications
* 1st level Registered Nurse.
* Registered mentor or willingness to work towards within 18 months.
* Non‑medical prescribing or willingness to undertake.
* Clinical skills qualification or willingness to undertake.
* Non‑medical prescribing of blood products or willingness to undertake.
* Accredited Haematology Course or willingness to undertake.
* Leadership and management course.
Experience & Skills
* Substantial nursing experience and/or evidence of relevant specialty.
* Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.
Other Requirements
* Valid driving licence and ability to use a car or obtain a Trust lease vehicle for the role. Reasonable adjustments may be considered for disabled applicants.
