Overview
Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking a Repairs Chargehand / Supervisor to join North West Leicestershire District Council's Home Improvement Team on a temporary basis. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week (Mon - Fri).
Main Duties
* Supervising and supporting operatives to deliver component replacement works
* Ensuring all works comply with current regulations, manufacturer instructions, and health & safety policies
* Managing workloads effectively to meet deadlines and project timescales
* Liaising with the Asset Management Support Team to ensure efficient job scheduling
* Providing a high level of customer service in a tenant-facing environment
Key Responsibilities
* Minimum 12 months' experience supervising a team of operatives
* Proven trade background, ideally within social housing
* Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Commitment to health and safety compliance
* Full UK driving licence and access to own transport
Mandatory Training & Certification
Candidates must hold up-to-date certificates in the following areas:
* Working at Height
* Manual Handling
* Asbestos Awareness
* COSHH Training
* Relevant Trade Certification
