Thales Integrated Airspace-protection Systems (IAS) UK designs, manufactures, and services technologies ranging from air surveillance and mission planning to missile and space propulsion systems. An opportunity exists within our Multi-Domain Mission Support Systems (MD MSS) team for a Systems Engineer.
MD MSS is a cutting-edge system that integrates data streams and platform communications to provide a unified view of the battlespace, supporting rapid decision-making and decisive action. The Systems Engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to define and deliver the product, reporting to the Systems Lead and Engineering Delivery Manager.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Requirements capture, development, and management
* System definition, including behaviour and performance
* Sub-system design, interface control, and component specification, including considerations for Security, Safety, and Logistic Support
* Design optimization through trades, analyses, and prototyping
* Maintaining and updating System Build information
* Supporting hardware, software, data, and security release processes
* Supporting deployment at Naval & Air domain sites
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Bachelor's Degree in a Numerate, Scientific, or Engineering Discipline
* Experience in System Engineering or similar design processes
* Technical expertise and problem-solving skills
* Effective communication skills
* Ability to work under pressure within a team
* Proactive and results-oriented approach
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Experience in the Defence Industry
* Systems Engineering experience
