Overview
The Network Analyst is responsible for first-second-third line technical support, maintenance and monitoring of a highly available global financial network.
An ideal candidate would work well in a busy team, be able to deal with a wide range of complicated infrastructure issues across multiple platforms as well as take ownership of daily and ongoing network issues. They will have excellent Data Center and Enterprise Network fundamentals and be motivated to work on complex infrastructure design and implementation projects as well as day to day support duties.
Analyst Role and Responsibilities
* Day to day support.
* Contribute to Root Cause Analysis for customer/internal outages and recommend resolutions.
* Provide support to other technical teams.
* New installs and platform refresh / redesign (Data Center & Enterprise).
* Turn up services to third parties (CDN, Extranet services, VPNs).
* Infrastructure hygiene (code upgrades, EOL hardware replacement).
* Understanding of Palo Alto and F5 load balancer from implementation & operation.
* Contribute to continuous service improvement.
* Network Automation.
* Service reviews.
* Document infrastructure procedures for internal support.
* Update design documentation for internal and customer support.
* Work with and refine enterprise monitoring solutions to ensure levels of monitoring and alerts are maintained.
* Review new monitoring tools and Network practices.
* Implement BAU changes in accordance with change management process (break fix, moves, adds & changes).
* Ad Hoc requirements.
* Attend Data Centers and remote sites when required to carry out maintenance.
* Pre and post power maintenance support.
* Other.
* Ensure smooth handover of Network issues between regions.
* Participate in Monday to Friday shift pattern.

Key Accountabilities
* Ensure projects and tasks are delivered to meet deadlines.
* Ensure network issues are resolved within business recovery target times.
* Ensure persistent problems are diagnosed and resolved.
* Ensure accuracy of network documentation.
* Network Handover process.
Skills
* Junos OS Fundamentals (Configuration, Operational Monitoring and Maintenance).
* Cisco IOS Fundamentals (Configuration, Operational Monitoring and Maintenance).
* Routing Protocols (EIGRP, OSPF and BGP).
* Route manipulation, redistribution & filtering.
* Good understanding and experience with Wi-Fi networking principles including design, installs, maintenance and troubleshooting preferably with Extreme Networks platform.
* Capable of multi-tasking, good time management and prioritisation of workload.
* Good communicator both written and verbal.
* Work well in a busy team, being quick to learn and able to deal with a wide range of issues.
Qualification
* Cisco CCNP routing & switching.
* Wireless foundational certifications.
Experience
* 5+ years senior Network engineer supporting high volume, high availability financial trading environment.
* Experience in delivering and supporting Wireless.
* Experience of working within multi-team environment.
* Experience of working in a multi-vendor infrastructure environment.
