Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year Requirements: Strong experience in platform engineering, cloud engineering, or DevOps within data-driven environments Hands-on expertise in AWS, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines Experience building secure, scalable cloud environments A solid understanding of data platforms, pipelines, or analytics ecosystems A mindset focused on reliability, observability, and continuous improvement Technical skills in AWS compute, storage, IAM, and networking Experience with Terraform and/or AWS CDK Experience with CI/CD tooling and pipeline engineering Experience with observability, monitoring, and operational tooling Strong SQL skills and systems thinking Desirable: experience with Lakehouse technologies such as S3 and Iceberg Desirable: experience in regulated or data-sensitive environments Desirable: exposure to multi-account or multi-tenant cloud architecture Responsibilities: Design, build, and operate our AWS-based data platform using infrastructure as code Create and manage CI/CD pipelines to enable safe, controlled deployments Support our modern Lakehouse architecture, including ingestion, processing, and data serving layers Embed security, governance, and compliance controls across the platform Drive platform observability, monitoring, and performance optimisation Own aspects of cost management (FinOps) and platform efficiency Collaborate with Data Engineers and Analytics & AI teams to deliver trusted data products Technologies: AI AWS CI/CD Cloud DevOps IAM Support SQL Security Terraform Mobile More: We are hiring a Senior Data Platform Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract to help shape and operate our next-generation data platform. You will join our Microlise One Analytics & AI platform and play a pivotal role in building a secure, scalable, governed data ecosystem that supports analytics, AI, and business-critical insights across the organisation.
