Overview
As a member of the Continuations Management team in E-Resources & Serials Management (ERSM), the E-Resources Librarian provides dedicated support for Yale University’s electronic resources. Responsibilities include managing the lifecycle of e-resources, supporting maintenance, and ensuring uninterrupted access. The role involves collaboration across units, managing subscription data, troubleshooting access issues, and participating in projects related to e-resources.
Required Skills and Abilities
* Experience managing large subscription packages in library management systems (LMS).
* Knowledge of organizing bibliographic information and managing electronic resource records.
* Understanding of best practices for managing electronic purchases, subscriptions, and licenses.
* Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
* Experience with acquisitions in LMS.
* Knowledge of continuations management and subscription lifecycle.
* Proficiency with systems like Excel for tracking electronic content.
* Ability to troubleshoot e-resource access issues.
Principal Responsibilities
* Manage data about Yale's electronic content across various systems.
* Oversee lifecycle processes such as trial access, licensing data, and usage statistics.
* Provide expertise internally and externally, resolve access issues, and support license review processes.
* Stay updated on emerging trends and contribute to projects and initiatives.
Required Education and Experience
* Master's degree from an ALA-accredited library school or equivalent.
* Ability to organize bibliographic information for electronic resources.
* Experience with integrated library systems and managing electronic content technologies.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
