Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals in need of care. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and home care environments. This role involves working closely with seniors and individuals with conditions such as Alzheimer's and dementia, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Candidate should be flexible with work for weekends and weekdays. Preferable female candidate.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care services, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor patients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
* Assist with mobility and transportation needs, including driving clients to appointments or social activities.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring adherence to best practices in patient care.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Maintain accurate records of patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding any concerns.
* Support clients with behaviour management strategies when necessary.
* Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
* Assist in heavy lifting when required for patient transfers or mobility support.
Requirements
* Previous experience in caregiving roles, particularly within nursing homes, care homes, or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with patient care protocols is essential.
* Experience in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is advantageous.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively as part of patient support tasks.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties.
* First aid certification is a plus but not mandatory; training may be provided.
