Overview
We are recruiting for enthusiastic Bank Band 6 Health Visitor to lead, deliver and influence a comprehensive Health Visiting service in Richmond and local service specification for health visiting that meets the public health needs of the local communities of the borough of Richmond.
The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of Working Together to Safeguarding Children (2018), including improving health and life chances for children and families and safeguarding those at risk.
Responsibilities
* Deliver the Healthy Child Programme and work in partnership with families to develop and agree tailored health plans as required
* Utilise specialist skills and knowledge to advise and support individuals and families on evidence based health care practices
* Understand the caseload profile including the health needs of the defined population and local communities, targeting outreach services to meet their needs
* Initiate referrals to multidisciplinary/agency colleagues as required to ensure adequate care and support for families and children
* Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual/group programmes of care that meet the public health needs of the population
* Develop and delegate appropriately the implementation of regular health promotion initiatives on specific health issues for specific groups and individuals

Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife
* Registered Health Visitor (SCPHN)
* Current NMC registration
* Evidence of continuing post-registration education and training
* Practice assessor/supervisor training or working towards
* Health visiting experience
* Ability to coordinate health promotion initiatives in line with local and national health improvement targets
* Experience of multidisciplinary and inter-agency working
* Experience of organising and managing own workload and that of others
* Experience of assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care and writing care plans
* Experience in providing practice-based learning support
* Experience of evidence-based care
* Experience of supervising staff/students
* Knowledge of recent developments in primary care
* Knowledge of current health and social care agenda relevant to area of work and professional practice
* Knowledge of current health legislation (including Change for Children agenda, Children’s Plan)
* Current knowledge of child protection issues
* Knowledge of NMC Code
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal
