Fixed Term Contract until 31/03/2028, 36.5 hours per week.
Hybrid role with requirement to work from Birmingham City Council buildings as business needs dictate.
We are looking for a dedicated Education Safeguarding Senior Officer to join our Children and Families Directorate. The role provides operational oversight and ensures effective delivery of safeguarding services within schools and other educational settings across the district.
Responsibilities
* Respond to safeguarding concerns and manage critical incidents.
* Ensure children who are out of sight of education are appropriately safeguarded.
* Support schools within a district operating model.
* Produce and analyse data to identify trends.
* Contribute to statutory safeguarding processes.
* Deliver school safeguarding improvement initiatives.
* Manage escalated cases and represent the team in multi‑agency audits and meetings.
Qualifications
* Higher level qualification.
* Significant management and leadership experience in services for children and families.
* Thorough understanding of safeguarding legislative framework.
* Experience working with vulnerable children and families.
* Track record of making a difference for young people.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Commitment to teamwork, social inclusion, and continuous professional development.
